Ryan Korban - Designer

As we know (from past experiences) I sorta like well designed rooms. Some designers (really, I mean SOME, as in not many) actually understand how to put a room together and they turn out so nicely. That is how I feel about Ryan Korban. He is young, hip and can really make a space sing while keeping them so individual. His website states, "We want our spaces to be attractive and inspirational, but nevertheless an escape. It is an entree to a language that will last a lifetime. Tradition for a new kind of traditionalist." How beautifully said, and how beautiful they look.

A Parisian Life For Me

When I think of Paris I have this very romanticized notion of what life is like there. The people eat delish pastries every morning, rich foods for dinner, they go to the Opera on the weekend and to the museum during lunch breaks. They don't take their history for granted and they live in old, gorgeous buildings with lavish furnishings and old art on every wall. Now I know that this simply isn't the way that Paris is, there are many modern (dare I say, Americanized) parts of the city and the people that live there are more normal than I would care to imagine. However, if I were to get to spend some time there I'd like to rent a place like this. It is what I imagine Parisian college students live in while they are earning degrees in dance, art and literature.

The living/bedroom, I love the slanted ceiling, those drapes and the whole decor here.

The edge of the living/bedroom where the "dining room" is.

The kitchen, it's so cute and tiny ... but who is cooking?

The balcony, I think that this makes the apartment.

This adorable place rents (fully decorated) for 850euros per week and 1500e per month. You can check out all the details on this (and many, many others) here

Design Diva Mary McDonald

I wouldn't mind being Mary McDonald's best friend, because then she could come and make my house into a design wonderland like she does in so many of her spaces. So for all of you in West Hollywood, go and befriend her, I'm sure she is as delightful as her designs.

Dream Home

Upon watching HGTV and seeing all of the commercials for their 2011 Dream Home (which you can register to win here) I started thinking of my dream homes. If I were moving to New York City and had, of course, an unlimited budget ... this is totally the house I'd move into.

That bowed glass front is to tie for and makes the front so unique.

Simply a beautiful room, the fireplace and bowed window are gorgeous and the furnishings are brilliant.

No house is complete without a library.

Outdoor space, off of 5th Avenue? No wonder it costs what it does.

If you're curious about this house and want to make my dream your reality, go to Sothebys and check it out.
