Day Before The Weekend

Because I work the weekends they don't hold the same thrill for me as they do for others. I mean, if I knew I was about to have two glorious days off (in a row?!?) I would be much more excited, but for me they are just two more days of the week. However, if I was going to have two days off, relaxing and enjoying, this is what I would be doing.

Updating my Mobile Me Calendar. Not only is it fantastic and looks like a classic day-planner, but it is more streamlined and I love it. I started using it today and I'm now hooked ... all it needs is a to-do list and it could replace my fantastic Kate's Paperie one ... but even as I say that I feel sad, I can't get rid of my Kate's one, they are too wonderful :)

Drinking Tea and reading. First of all I love Lemon Zinger, with some honey it is the best tea in the

world, bar none. Don't argue this one with me. Secondly, I'd love to have the time before school starts to re-read The Great Gatsby. I haven't read it since high school and a quote on Facebook today reminded me of how beautifully written that book truly is.

Finally, I'd be taking the dogs on a nice, long walk, enjoying the warming weather and spending time with my friends.

Spring Is HERE!

T.S. Eliot so beautifully said,

APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.

... and I'm not sure I agree. I mean, I love Eliot and The Waste Land is my favorite (okay, maybe it ties for first with Prufrock) of his works. But, April is not cruel, in fact I'm quite looking forward to it. Just yesterday I started noticing that lawns are getting greener, the trees are beginning to bud and there are the littlest green shoots coming up bulbs that have long been hibernating through the cold and often cruel Colorado winter. I think that if Eliot had lived here he would have had something different to say in these opening lines. Something about the relief of winter coming to an end and seeing life in the green that is popping up all around. This weather puts me in the mood to plant (a mood that won't last long, I assure you) and be outside. Until it is just a bit warmer though I will be content with having the windows open and dreaming of all the fun springy outfits that I can wear ... in the next couple months.

Although, these lilacs do cause me to mix the memory of spring and desire for warm weather ... maybe he did have it right after all :)

Spring is in the Air

It is sunny with blue skies and bright sunshine, however since it is a crisp 36 outside I'm longing for the warmer temperatures of spring. Anthropologie's spring goodies are not helping this one bit ...

Simply divine outfits for Spring ... now all we need are the temperatures (and maybe a hammock).
